Naturalizations

Naturalizations in Lake County are held by the Clerk of the Circuit Court's office.

If you want to obtain a copy of a naturalization from the Circuit Clerk you can do so in person or by mail.

Include as much information as you can on the person you are researching. Items to include are name, birth date, where from, approximately when they arrived, and approximately when they naturalized, if known.

The fee is $5 per name searched. This fee includes the search and the copy cost. It is not refundable if nothing is found. They do not accept personal checks. You may pay with cash in person or with a money order by mail. Don't forget your SASE.

Send to:

The office does not allow searches of their naturalization books by the public. A staff member must do the search. Several naturalization books are missing and they do not know where they are.
